Colin Rips a Drive

Colin Rips a Drive

After meeting as undergraduates at Yale in the mid 90s, Will and Colin have traveled far and wide dissecting the great golf courses of the world. Will received his masters degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia before spending the past years helping build world-class courses like Sebonack, Ballyneal and the Tom Lehman course at the Prairie Club in Valentine, Nebraska. Colin, now the coach of the Yale golf team, spent years as an editor of The Golfer Magazine. He took an extended sabbatical in 2006 and 2007 in order to spend a year in the Scottish Highlands participating on the construction of the Castle Stuart Golf Links for Mark Parsinen and Cornerstone Golf.

Mission Statement:
We share a profound love of the game and enjoy it most when it is presented on simple terms. We believe golf architecture is at its greatest when course design and maintenance are done in an artistic and practical manner. Most of all, the game should be about spending quality time with friends among nature and the elements. We feel blessed to have met a wide range of people in our travels and it is our hope to use this platform to pass along insight from the leaders of the golf industry–from the architects to superintendents to developers and shapers–who make golf architecture such a dynamic and worthy subject of study.
-Will and Colin

Laura Terebey- When I turned professional in 2005 I had set my sights on one goal, to join the Ladies European Professional Golf Association Tour (ELPGA Tour) and make a living playing golf. As an American on the Ladies European Tour, I am often asked why do I play overseas? My reply is simple. I want to see the sights and experience life in Europe. Professional golf, believe it or not, seemed the best candidate to get me there. Fast forward to the present day and here I am in my fourth season on the Ladies European Tour at the ripe ole’ age of 25. I guess I haven’t done too badly.

While I was off jaunting about, country to country, all summer long I discovered something else – I enjoy writing and sharing my adventures from abroad. There is so much to see and take in whilst I’m over here that I couldn’t keep it all to myself. I began writing a travel log and sending it to my supporters from home. Now to my great pleasure, Punchbowl Golf has agreed to post my ramblings on their website for all to see. It is my hope that you’ll read my column, have a few laughs, and get a taste of what Europe has to offer. Maybe you will learn a little about what my life is like on tour as well. Enjoy!  – Laura
