If you are on the south coast of England, Isle of Purbeck Golf Club (the 5th hole shown above, a shortish four) is good for a game and downright absurd vistas of unbroken heathland and the Dorset coastline. Harry Colt has design credits here, and while not necessarily the best preservation of his work, Purbeck is sophisticated enough for the overly-discerning traveller and pretty enough to dismiss the holes that might underwelm. An interesting heathy version of the Redan hole can also be found on the grounds.
