Another new site has popped up that we feel is worth lauding. Our friend Tom Dunne (seen in this video of the inaugural Punchbowl) has started Out and Back a website that should be very different from your average internet fare. Tom worked as a writer/editor for many years at T & L Golf and was responsible for much of its quality content on courses and golf course architecture.
Tom’s site will be an avenue for him to continue writing and researching about golf course design and quality golf travel. With his connections to some of the best writers in golf, do not be surprised to see some of their work appear on the site. Now that T & L Golf has shuttered its doors, any avenue for this type of writing and reporting will be a welcome addition to the golf scene.
Currently of note on the site is the posting of Mike DeVries’s green sketches for the El Boqueron project outside of Austin. Having written the story in T & L Golf about the lost Mackenzie plan found in Argentina, Tom has been involved in this project from the very beginning and is now involved with the development team. I know he will be spending time in Austin this summer, so check back with Out and Back for regular updates.
